Es wird ein kleines Jubiläum. Das Indoor Festival an der Küste der Ostsee feiert seinen fünften Geburtstag. Am Wochenende 10./11. November werden wieder tausende Metal-Fans zum Weißenhäuser Strand pilgern und einen komfortablen Urlaub mit viel harter Musik verbringen. Auf drei Bühnen werden mehr als 25 Bands den Fans einheizen. Und zum dritten Mal in Folge sind alle Unterkünfte der Feriensiedlung ausverkauft. Es gibt nur noch wenige Restkarten ohne Übernachtung.
Seit Anfang Oktober steht nun die Running-Order für die beiden Festivaltage fest. Neben vielen bekannten Gesichtern werden auch mehrere Bands zum ersten Mal auf dem Festival spielen. Nachdem die Mittelalter-Rocker von Feuerschwanz 2014 im Baltic Ballroom debütierten, werden Sie in diesem Jahr den Freitag auf der Maximum Metal Stage eröffnen. Danach folgen die deutschen Senkrechtstarter Beyond The Black. Nachdem Frontfrau Jennifer Haben vor einiger Zeit ihre Mitstreiter komplett ausgetauscht hat, bin ich gespannt auf den Auftritt dieser neuformierten Band. Mit Christian Hermsdörfer (Serenity, ex-Visons of Atlantis) hat sie einen gestandenen Musiker und hervorragenden Gitarristen an ihrer Seite. Leider überschneidet sich diese Show mit dem Auftritt von Kissin’ Dynamite im Baltic Ballroom. Danach folgen mit der der deutschen Metal Queen Doro sowie mit Powerwolf zwei Bands, die bereits auf dem MHP gespielt haben. Also Power Metal wie er unterschiedlicher nicht sein kann zum Abschluss des ersten Tages.
Am Nachmittag des Samstags ist die Auswahl der Auftritte noch schwieriger. So spielen auf der Maximum Metal Stage mit Axxis, Orden Ogan und Battle Beast drei hochkarätige Bands, die ich mir keinesfalls entgehen lasse möchte. OK, alle Bands habe ich den letzten Jahren bereits live erleben können, zum Teil mehrfach. Aber gerade Battle Beast wird auf der großen Bühne wohl ein richtiges Erlebnis werden. Zeitgleich werden im Baltic Ballroom Thundermother, Majesty und Grand Magus auftreten. Da ist wohl “Bühnen-Zapping” angesagt. Und die Show der schwedischen Pop-Metaller Amaranthe mit Frontfrau Elize Ryd ist bereits fest im Terminkalender eingetragen. Gemeinsam mit Eluveitie und The Charm Of Furie sind sie zurzeit auf ihrer “Maximum Evocation Tour” quer durch Europa. Und letztere wären auf jeden Fall ein Grund, in diesem Jahr auch wieder bei der kleinsten Bühne, der Riff Alm, vorbeizuschauen.

After the medieval rockers of Feuerschwanz debuted in the Baltic Ballroom in 2014, they will be opening this Friday at the Maximum Metal Stage. This is followed by the German high flyers Beyond The Black. After frontwoman Jennifer has completely replaced her bandmates some time ago, I’m looking forward to the appearance of this newly formed band. With Christian Hermsdörfer (Serenity, ex-Visons of Atlantis), she has a well-known musician and an excellent guitarist at her side. Unfortunately, this show coincides with the appearance of Kissin‘ Dynamite at the Baltic Ballroom. Then there are two bands, who have already played on the MHP, with the German metal queen Doro as well as with Powerwolf. So, Power Metal like it can not be more different at the end of the first day.
In the afternoon of the Saturday the selection of the performances is even more difficult. So play on the Maximum Metal Stage with Axxis, Orden Ogan and Battle Beast three high-profile bands that I would not want to miss. OK, all the bands I have been able to experience live in the last few years, in some cases several times. But just Battle Beast will be a real experience on the big stage. At the same time Thunder Mother, Majesty and Grand Magus will play in the Baltic Ballroom. There is probably „stage-zapping“ announced. And the show of the Swedish pop metal band Amaranthe, with lead singer Elize Ryd is already permanently noted in my calendar. Together with Eluveitie and The Charm Of Furie, they are currently on their „Maximum Evocation Tour“ across Europe. And the latter would in any case be a reason to look past the smallest stage, the Riff Alm, again this year.
