Last October Anneke van Giersbergen’s new progressive metal band VUUR released their much-anticipated debut album, ‘In This Moment We Are Free – Cities’. The album entered the Dutch Album Top 100 at number 2, Van Giersbergen’s highest-ever chart position.

Following their European run supporting Epica late last year, the band will head out on a headline run in the UK & Europe in February, and you can find the full list of dates below.

Anneke comments:

“At the moment we are busy rehearsing for the upcoming EU tour next month and we are very excited to go on the road again.

The setlist will include most tracks form the VUUR debut album, completed with some audience favourites from my back catalogue.

I’m proud to announce Votum as support for our continental European dates. We love Votum’s blend of powerful guitars and electronica and their unusual approach to atmospheric progressive metal. All in all this will be a great evening of music and we are looking forward to seeing everyone next month!“

VUUR’s full length debut was produced by Joost van den Broek, who was also involved in the writing process. Other co-writing partners are Mark Holcomb (Periphery), Esa Holopainen (Amorphis), Daniel Cardoso (Anathema), and both of VUUR’s guitar players wrote a song as well.
