Lange hat es gedauert, jetzt wurden der Termin und die ersten Bands für das Metal Female Voices Fest bekannt gegeben. Es war ja schon seit Längerem bekannt, dass Leaves’ Eyes den Samstag headlinen werden, mit einer ganz besonderen Show, Das Wikingerschiff kommt zurück nach Belgien. Mit “King of Kings” hat die Band im September des vergangenen Jahres ein Meisterwerk des symphonischen Metals veröffentlicht. Anschließend waren sie dann mit Diabulus in Muisca und Melted Space auf Europa-Tournee.

Der erste Paukenschlag der in diesem Jahr verkündet wurde, war die Reunion von von Battlelore. Die letzte Show außerhalb Finnlands gab’s 2011, auf dem Metal Female Voices Fest. SAVN ist die neue neue Band von Midnattsol-Front-Elfe Carmen Elise Espenæs. Die Band verbindet norwegische Folklore mit symphonischen Metal. Es wird mir eine große Freude sein, auch die Schwester von Liv Kristine (Leaves’s Eyes) während des Festivals zu treffen.

Und ein weiterer größerer Name (zumindest für mich) wurde inzwischen bekannt gegeben. Kontrust aus Österreich kommen zurück zum Metal Female Fest. Der Crossover den die Band auf die Bühne bringt ist allerdings nicht so ganz mein Geschmack. Neben SAVN werden drei weitere Bands ihren ersten Auftritt beim MFVF XIII haben. Spoil Engine aus Belgien stehen für Metal haben vielfältige Einflüsse, u.a. CCR Killswitch Engage, Pantera… Entsprechend vielfältig ist auch der Sound, stimmlich ist Iris Goessens in etwa mit Maria Brinks zu vergleichen, mal böse Growls, mal Klargesang. Aus Norwegen kommen Bergstatt. Der Folk-Metal der Band wird sicherlich mehr als nur ein interessanter Farbtupfer. Und Artrosis aus Polen werden Dark Rock/Metal in Verbindung mit Gothic-Elementen auf die Bühne bringen. Auf die weiteren Ankündigungen bin ich jetzt schon gespannt.

The band brings  their crossover-metal to stage, but that is not quite my taste. Besides SAVN three other bands will have their first appearance at MFVF XIII. Spoil Engine from Belgium play Metal with many influences, among others CCR, Killswitch Engage, Pantera … Just as diverse is also the sound, vocally Iris Goessens can be compared roughly with Maria Brinks, sometimes angry growls, sometimes clear vocals. From Norway come Bergstatt. The folk-metal band will certainly be more than just interesting colourful spots.
