In den Vereinigten Staaten füllen sie seit Jahren große Hallen, jetzt wollen sie auch Europa erobern. Das Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) ist ein Projekt von ehemaligen Mitgliedern der leider nicht mehr existierenden Powermetal-Band Savatage, eine Mischung aus Orchester und Rockband. Und was dabei herauskommt, ist ein phänomenales Musik-Spektakel.

In the United States they already fill large halls for years, now they want to conquer Europe. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is a project by former members of the no longer existing Power metal band Savatage, a mixture of orchestra and rock band. And the outcome is a phenomenal music spectacle.

Nun touren sie zum ersten Mal außerhalb der USA und präsentieren uns “Beethoven’s Last Night”. Leider ist der  Saal 2 im CCH in Hamburg nicht ausverkauft.

Now they are touring for the first time outside of the USA and present us „Beethoven’s Last Night „. Unfortunately Hall 2 of the CCH in Hamburg wasn’t sold out.

Erzählt wird die fiktive Geschichte der letzten Nacht von Ludwig van Beethoven. Es ist eine stürmische Nacht im Frühling 1827 in Wien. Beethoven ist über seinem Klavier zusammengesackt und auf dem Klavier liegt soeben fertiggestellte Manuskript der 10. Sinfonie…

It tells the fictional story of the last night of Ludwig van Beethoven. It is a stormy night in spring 1827 in Vienna. Beethoven is slumped over his piano and on the piano is the just completed manuscript of the 10th Symphony …

So beginnt die Geschichte, eine Geschichte vom bevorstehenden, der Rückbesinnung an frühere Jahre. die komplette Story kann man hier nachlesen. Das Ganze wir untermalt von hervorragender Musik, immer wieder wird das musikalische Werk in den Kompositionen zitiert, aber auch der Hummelflug (Rimsky-Korsakow) oder Melodien von Mozart fließen in das Gesamtwerk ein. Der Sound ist hervorragend,  die Licht- und Laser-Show ist grandios.

The complete story can be read here.The whole thing was accompanied by great music. again and again the musical work was cited in the compositions, but also the Flight of the Bumblebee (Rimsky-Korsakov), and melodies by Mozart are incorporated into the overall piece. The sound is excellent, the light and laser show is terrific.

Nach mehr als zweieinhalb Stunden ist das beeindruckende Konzert vorbei. Die Fans bedanken sich mit stehenden Ovationen. Und alle hoffen auf ein Wiedersehen in einem Jahr. Dann mit “Night Castle”?

After more than two and a half hours, the impressive concert is over. The Fans said thank you with standing ovations. And everybody hopes for a return next year. This time with „Night Castle“?
